Dhyana Mudra The Dhyana Mudra can be done with one hand or with both hands. With one hand, the left is placed in the lap, while the right can take any other mudra. Ritual objects such as a book or bowl can be placed in the hand. The dhyana mudra is the gesture of meditation. When performed with both hands, the hands are held at the level of the abdomen. The right hand is placed over the left, both with the palms facing up. The thumbs may touch each other at the tips, forming a mystic triangle, which is attributed great importance by many esoteric sects; among other things, it is said to represent the mystic fire that burns all impurities. The Dhyana Mudra transforms any mental attachment into clear perception.
